Over the past six years, the Missouri Street Theatre has offered the opportunity to various youth and theatrical groups to promote performing arts in the community. With the combined experience of their directors totalling more than 40 years, Harbour Theatrical Group is dedicated to educating, enriching and entertaining the lives of people of all ages. From the time it incorporated as a non-profit in 1998, Harbor Theatrical Group has promoted community and volunteer support, student enthusiasm, and growing recognition of the professional caliber of our shows and the high quality of our workshops. Many of our students go on to prestigious university theater programs around the country; all of them, wherever they go, take with them confidence, empathy, responsibility, and the capacity to imagine. We passionately believe that when young people have opportunities to participate in exceptional training in the arts, they become not only the next generation of artists and arts appreciators, but the next generation of engaged citizens, empowered to pay attention, communicate, and energetically participate in a collaborative process.
We believe that there is a unique magic between adolescents and musical theater. Who better to interpret the heightened emotions that acting through song and dance require than those who still have one foot in the childhood world of “play”, and the other on the threshold of adult challenges?
